Illustrating technical documentation
These are from a collection of many hundred illustrations for the documentation of large scale telecoms software platforms.
They are drawn in Illustrator and saved as JPEG or GIF files, for display in HTML Help systems and sometimes in slide presentations. The same files are used, with acceptable quality, to build printable and viewable PDFs through FrameMaker.
We do not use clip art, and there is a conscious effort to make our drawings an attractive and accessible part of a very large and highly technical information set.
